Photo featured in the “Transportation” section of American Ruins, taken in Vienna, 2014. During excavations for new construction, a Volkswagen Käfer was found when a long-sealed garage was discovered beneath an office building. No one was able to say how long the space might have been covered-over. The split rear window dates the dusty vehicle to sometime before 1953.
