The sun dreamed
it was a koi fish
in blue water.
The children
were happy to
see her looking
at them. She
took one
more peek at a
boy laughing
before she woke
up orange in a
blue morning.
She stretched
and rose yellow.
It was time to
go to work.
The sun didn’t
know why she
was happy
or what she
dreamed about
in the long night.
