Green Hills Literary Lantern

(untitled)

I sit on a pale pink

chaise lounge in my Grandmother’s

sun filled bedroom.

Shadows and reflections

from the late afternoon

teach me time

moving across the bed post

and her dressing table set.

A bottle of perfume glistens

a few moments before

her framed photograph catches

the sun next and then

her rose colored powder box

vibrates with light.

Her comb and brush dazzle

the last to capture the sun

before the room slowly loses

this amber cast of gold.
