Autumn fast approaching…

A chilly wind crept in last night.

I watch outside the window.

Birds chitter at the cedars.

Blue Jay seeking sunflower seed

Flips and scatters millet, milo, and wheat.

Chickadees gather

Where grains have been tossed.

Chipmunks fill their cheeks.

None goes to waste.

And I feel suddenly quite happy.
