Christmas Moon

 

Nearly full

            the white orb

parts cloud a moment

            to shine

            on an aging

            purveyor

            of words

shuffling home

from his day job

                        hands

                        wrinkled

                        from hot

soapy water feet

                        aching

from hours of hard

                        floors

the old boy eases

            along the icy

street ornamented

                        houses

wink him

a brittle cheer

            but it’ll do.
